Donald R. Panapada

Donald R. Panapada, resident of Bridgeport, and former longtime resident of Stamford, peacefully passed away on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 25, 2018, with his family at his side. Donald was born in Stamford, CT on June 10, 1951 and was one of three children born to the late William and Marie (Memoli) Panapada. Donny, as he was affectionately known to many, grew up in Stamford where he graduated from St. Mary’s School, attended Stamford Catholic High School, and graduated from Stamford High School with the Class of 1969. He enjoyed a successful career working for William B. Meyer Van Lines as their Director of Operations. He was an avid NY Yankee fan and he loved everything about the sport of football. He was especially proud of his son’s accomplishments as head coach of the varsity football team at Trinity Catholic High School. Donny loved being a grandfather and will be remembered for taking his grandchildren on fun vacations and making lasting memories. Most of all, Donny was happiest spending quality time with his beloved wife and family. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him and his memory will live on in their hearts. Donny is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Carol (Frangione) Panapada, his children; Donald R. Panapada, Jr. and his wife Melinda, Joseph J. Thomas, John W. Thomas, Lori A. Capozza and Christopher A. Thomas, grandchildren; Ashley, Jamie, Taylor, Christopher, Madison, Victoria and Lilliana, his siblings; William D. Panapada and his wife Caroline and Mary Beth Guilbert and husband Paul, his mother-in-law, Rose O'Donnell, and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. A wake will take place on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 2pm to 6pm at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 30th at 11am at St. Mary R.C. Church, 566 Elm Street, in Stamford. A committal service and interment will immediately follow mass at St. John R.C. Cemetery in Darien.
