Dorothy Verderosa

Dorothy Verderosa, 87, went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2016 surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born in New York City in 1928 and was adopted by Thomas and Anna Griffin Ryle in 1938. She lived most of her life in Stamford, leaving for sixteen years to live in Charlotte, NC. Upon returning to Stamford, she resided at Sunrise Brighton Gardens. Dorothy graduated from Sacred Heart Academy, worked for the Stamford Town Clerk and in 1950 married Nicholas Verderosa. She was a loving wife, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid reader who loved to needlepoint, crochet and knit. Dorothy had many dogs during her life that gave her great comfort. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Nicholas Verderosa. Dorothy leaves behind her children: Annmarie Verderosa Boruta and her husband Richard, Constance Verderosa Degruttola and her husband Daniel and Peter and Joanne Verderosa. Her beloved grandchildren: Nicole and Brian Faubel, Daniel and Brenda Degruttola, RJ and Mary Boruta, Patrick Boruta, Lauryn and Jared Robinson, Nicholas Verderosa and his fiancee Jenn Correnty. Her great grandchildren who brought great joy: Amanda and Christina Faubel, Benicio, Cecilia and Amalia Degruttola, Lillian Dorothy-Rose Robinson. And by a sister-in-law, Janet Sia and by many nieces and nephews. We would like to extend a special thank you to all those who cared for our mother at Brighton Gardens. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 12th at 10 am at The Basilica of Saint John the Evangelist, 279 Atlantic Street, in Stamford, CT. Interment will follow to St. John’s Cemetery in Darien, CT.
