It is with profound sadness that the family of Henry J. Klaassens announces his passing on June 2, 2026. Henry passed away peacefully at Greenwich Hospital with his beloved wife, Bonnie, by his side. Henry was born in New Rochelle, New York, to Henry and Alwina Klaassens. Following his graduation from high school, he attended Syracuse University, where he earned a degree in Geology. He later pursued a degree in accounting and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Henry began his professional career with Price Waterhouse before serving as Controller of the New York Stock Exchange and later the law firm of Reavis & McGrath. Throughout his career, he was known for his integrity, dedication, and strong work ethic. Above all, Henry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a steady and loving presence in the lives of his family, offering guidance, support, and unwavering love. Henry was vibrant, generous, and quick-witted, with a mischievous sense of humor that brought laughter to those around him. He found great joy in gardening, working outdoors alongside his sons, taking cruises with family and friends, and spending cherished time on Cape Cod. He also appreciated life's simple pleasures, including a good cigar and a fine scotch shared among friends. Henry's legacy is one of love, laughter, hard work, and devotion to family. His impact will live on through the many lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Henry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Bonnie (Clark) Klaassens; his five children, Michael of Stamford, Connecticut; Robert (Jennifer) of Windham, New Hampshire; Andrew (Tracey) of Raleigh, North Carolina; Kathryn of Milford, Connecticut; and Mark (Maggie) of Aldie, Virginia. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Molly, James, Hannah, Conner, Macie, Jack, and Sydney; his brother, William (Meg) Klaassens; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, June 8th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, Connecticut. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 9th, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of the Holy Spirit, 403 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford, Connecticut. Interment will immediately follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich, Connecticut. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause that was meaningful to Henry and his family.
