Ilphoxia "Fofo/Manfo" Geneus Antoine passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 surrounded by her immediate family in Stamford, CT. She was 77 years old. Ilphoxia was born on July 12, 1943 in Petite Desdunes, Haiti. She was born to the late Jean Charles Geneus and Carmen Sterling. She married Joseph Antoine in 1975 and they lived together in Haiti before relocating to Stamford, CT. Fofo/Manfo is survived by four children: her first son Elie Cantave, his wife Francoise and their 2 children: Darryl and Chelsea; her second son Vadick Cantave and his wife Soeurette and their son Ralph; her first daughter Roseline (Rose) Shaw, her husband Eric and their 2 sons Marcus and Tyler; her second daughter Lunique Bailey, her husband Andres and their daughter Ariel. She is also survived by 2 stepdaughters: Kerline Antoine and her 5 children, and Edith Antoine Jean-Marie, her husband and their 2 children. Fofo/Manfo was the second oldest of 12 children. She left behind 4 sisters and 4 brothers: Benita (Chouloute) Geneus, Pierre Charles Geneus, Nervelie Geneus Joseph, Edner Geneus, Marie (Nonla) Geneus Gelin, Ludovic (Luc) Geneus, Jean Robert Geneus, Rose-Marie Geneus. She also left behind many brothers/sisters’ in-law, 51 nieces/nephews, many grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins, and friends in the US, Canada, Dominican Republic, Brazil, and Haiti. Fofo/Manfo was a very determined businesswoman. She was a custom dressmaker/seamstress making wedding dresses, party dresses and school uniforms. She was always the life of the party and family gatherings with her great sense of humor, beautiful smile and of course her tasty foods. She loved to dance, cook and being very good at both. Fofo/Manfo was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and always remembered in their hearts. Family welcomes all relatives and friends on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 5pm – 9pm, at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Celebration of Life will be at 9am on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at New Beginnings Community Church, 65 Tokeneke Road in Darien, CT. Her burial will follow at St. John-St. Mary Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave, in Norwalk, CT.
