Jean Cesaire Dormevil

Jean Cesaire Dormevil also known as Cesaire, 73, entered eternal life on January 18, 2023 at 3:50am at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, Connecticut. Born in Haiti, the son of the late Gustave and Angelique Louis-Charles Dormevil lived in Florida and Connecticut before settling in Massachusetts. He worked as an immigration officer and was also a teacher in Haiti before moving to the United States. He spent the majority of his career where he worked for the State of Massachusetts with adults with developmental delays. Cesaire was a loving and caring person who deeply loved his family and friends and was always ready to help them in any way he could; be it to offer a listening ear, provide great advice, to help fix anything around the house or to help them tend to the many flower and vegetable gardens he would start in the homes of his loved ones. We will never forget Cesaire’ s love of politics and his unwavering allegiance to his Boston Celtics basketball team. One of 16, Jean Cesaire is survived by his siblings: Francois, Romaine, Raphael, twin sisters Catherine and Marie Lucie, Fernande, Guy, Rose Angelique, Adele and Marie France. He is predeceased by his sister Marie Rose Annette Dormevil and his brother Jacques Dormevil. Jean Cesaire is survived by his four sons: Johnny, Freddy (Yves), Reggie (Marie), and Christopher and eleven grandchildren: Kwame, Destaunia, Giahnny, EJahry, Giuliannah, Jahlaina, Shareena, Bella, Tristan, Quincy and Reina. He has many loving nieces and nephews: Francois Jr, Ralph, Emmanuel, Romelle, Fedler, Monica, Kathleen, Marc Eric, Phillipe, Robenson, Christy, Gregory, Guyvensky, Guylendy, David, Andrick, Starah, Alex, Felix, Elshamma, Joshmael, and Abishaelle. He leaves behind a host of cousins, godchildren, extended family members and friends that will miss him dearly, including his very best friend, Alix Williams. Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 5pm to 9pm at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, in Stamford CT. A Mass Christian Burial will be celebrated 9am at St. Joseph Church, 85 South Main Street, in South Norwalk CT.
