Joseph J. Lasko, Jr.

Joseph James Lasko, Jr. (“Joe”) of Stamford, CT entered eternal rest peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. He was born on December 22, 1948, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Stamford, CT. He was a graduate of Stamford High School Class of 1967. Joe is survived by his loving wife, Judy, of 53 years, his beloved children, Joey II and Laurie Parker and her husband, Billy Parker III, who was like a son to him, and his most precious gifts, his two grandchildren, Billy Parker IV and Kayla Parker (affectionately known as the (“Lucky 7”). Also surviving are his brothers, Robert (Vivan), William (Wanda), James (Felicita), John (Sue), and Michael (Mary), and his sister, Patricia (Edward), numerous nieces and nephews and first and second cousins. He also had a special bond with two of his nephews, his godchildren, John A. Loglisci, Jr. and Robert J. Lasko, Jr. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Cathrine Lasko, his sister, Cathy Jo, his nieces Christina Faryniarz and Corrine Faryniarz, his uncles, Paul, Steve, John, and his aunts Betty, Bertha, Julia, Eleanor, and Mary. After graduating high school, Joe was drafted into the US Army where he honorably served two tours in Vietnam, as a Chinook Helicopter crew chief, mechanic and pilot. After returning from Vietnam, he married his high school sweetheart, Judy. Upon returning he enjoyed auto mechanics and spent a lot of time with Billy Parker, Sr. at Bill’s Service on Hope Street where he found the love of auto mechanics. He worked with his cousin, Steve Summerton and Frank Zarelli at Soundview, then moved to Darien Auto Center with Anthony Frate and Bob Dennis. He then moved to Center Garage with his long-time friend, Phil Carlo. In 1989 he decided to change his whole path of life and opened up a TCBY with his brother, John. They, together, would open two more stores with their brothers, Mike and Jim. He retired in 2010 from TCBY and once again joined Steve Summerton at Regency Limousine and retired in 2020. He was active in so many wonderful things, an avid golfer with his brothers and his father; spending every Sunday either at the Heights or Sterling (“Who’s Getting Time”) or the yearly trip to the Catskills. He was an avid bowler with his father-in-law, Raymond Vincoli and his son, Joey, and spent many hours at Bowlarama, Rip Van Winkle, 10-Pin, Greenwich Lanes and countless tournaments on the weekends. He was active in Darien Little League and served as Commissioner, also a member of the VFW Post 6933, Cubmaster of Pack 161, a member of the Piedmont Club, and Sergeant at Arms of the Whitewalls Car Club. Cars were his passion which he shared with his son and daughter. He also shared his love of racing with his brother, Bob. He loved cars. His pride and joy was his 1967 Cadillac. In 2005, he and his son bought a Cadillac to restore and, in that journey, they resurrected his 1967 Cadillac that he once had 48 years ago. He attended many shows and the car won many awards. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. John Church in Darien. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd degree. His love of family was the most treasured in his heart. The most special were the Sunday dinners with Lucky 7. He enjoyed his yearly trips to Lead East where he met some cool people and his son and daughter’s friends became his own kids. He had a heart of gold and will remain forever in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s name to the Bennett Cancer Center or Vietnam Veterans Association. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 31st at 10am at St. John Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien, CT. Interment will be private.
