Louis Anthony Barone

Louis Anthony Barone, peacefully passed away and returned to his heavenly home on Saturday, October 9, 2021 while in Hospice care at Cassena Care at Stamford, CT at the age of 91. Devoted husband, beloved father, dear brother and cherished friend. Born on June 16, 1930 in New Haven, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Antonio and Antonetta Iasellio Barone. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary Loretta, sister Rose and brothers: Frank, Harry, John, Angelo, Orlando, Joseph, George, Vincent and Anthony. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Mary, Bernadette, Joseph, Karen (Daniel), his sister Mary, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Growing up during the Great Depression, Louis learned one lesson quickly: Don’t be late for dinner. Food was never wasted. Food was scarce and what you had, you ate. As a child, he loved to sing and grew up in a large and loving family who were musically talented and performed for their local neighbors and friends. In 1951, Louis joined the United States Marine Corps where he served his Country proudly until his Honorable Discharge in 1959. He wed the love of his life in 1956 and together they raised four children. After attending a carpenter apprentice and training program, he worked for both the New York and Connecticut Carpenters Union. Louis leaves a legacy of touching the hearts of family and friends by gracing them with his great tenor voice singing his favorite American-Italian songs. He enjoyed cooking hearty portions of his Italian favorite recipes for family and friends. He excelled as a talented craftsman and one of his tenets he always shared was “always remember to measure twice and cut once” and taught us the lesson of selecting the right tools for the right job. His love for Italian meatballs and macaroni, cannoli, peaches, pudding, music, war movies and carpentry were only surpassed by the love he had for his family. He will be fondly remembered for his ability to entertain us with stories, make us laugh, smile and shower us with his love. He is forever in our hearts. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and greatest gratitude to Cassena Care at Stamford and Constellation Hospice for lovingly, affectionately and attentively caring for Louis. In addition, the family greatly appreciates all expressions of sympathy and acts of kindness shown during this time of bereavement. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 11am, at St. Maurice Church, 358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Harvester Road, Easton, CT.
