Louis Matthew Polidoro, age 61, passed away peacefully at his home in Stamford surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, February 9, 2014, after being diagnosed with cancer on January 10th 2014. Lou was born in Bronx, NY on May 11, 1952 to Matthew Polidoro and Lorraine Klass Polidoro. He grew up in East Haven, CT. Lou managed restaurants in New York City when he was in his late twenties. After moving to Stamford, Lou worked as a Banquet Director for the Italian Center for many years. Being an entrepreneur at heart, Lou launched Stamford Painting Contractors in 1984, which is now operated under Shoreline Painting and Drywall. Lou’s true passion was food and serving the patrons at one of his many restaurants over the years. Lou is survived by his loving wife; Jacquie Jesselli Polidoro, his two sons; Matthew Charles Polidoro and Christopher Lee Polidoro, his daughter; Jessica Lorraine Polidoro, all of Stamford CT, and his sister; Donna Polidoro Savino, of Branford CT. Lou lived his life through the context of “love, compassion, generosity”, and everyone he came in contact with felt every bit of it. He was a beacon of light that brightened every room he entered, and he put a smile on the faces of everyone who had the fortune to be in his presence. His spirit is forever strong and vibrant, and it will carry him forward. Lou will be sadly missed and never forgotten. He will live on in the hearts of those who loved him forever. The Polidoro family will receive family and friends on Friday, February 14th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, in Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 15th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Leo Catholic Church, 24 Roxbury Road, in Stamford. The committal service and entombment will take place immediately after mass at St. George’s Mausoleum at Woodland Cemetery, 66 Woodland Place, in Stamford.
