Margarita Escobar

Margarita Escobar, born on September 21, 1932, peacefully departed this life at the age of 91 on April 27, 2024, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Margarita was the cherished daughter of Jesus M. Restrepo and Rosa Amelia Restrepo. She hailed from a large and loving family, blessed with 19 siblings. Before making her home in the United States, Margarita was a dedicated teacher in Colombia, where she touched the lives of students with her passion for education and nurturing spirit. In a union that spanned 63 years, Margarita was married to the love of her life, Huberto. Together, they shared a bond built on love, respect, and unwavering devotion. Margarita's journey as a wife, mother, and grandmother was marked by her boundless love, selflessness, and fierce dedication to her family. Margarita was a pillar of strength and support to her loved ones, always offering guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her legacy of compassion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. Margarita is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Huberto, and her daughter, Maria Reyes. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion carried on by her daughter, Margarita (Jorge) Arenas, and her son, Rafael (Barbara) Escobar: her grandchildren Katie (Juan) Pabon, Christopher Arenas, Stephen Arenas, Kaiden Escobar, Payton Escobar: her great grandchildren Nicolas Pabon and Valentina Pabon: three sisters (Celina, Rubiela & Nohemi) and three brothers (Jesus M., Pedro Nel & Jader). In the hearts of those who loved her, Margarita’s memory will forever bring love, strength, and hope. Although we mourn the loss of our mother and grandmother, we are at peace that she is in a better place. Mamita, you will forever be loved. Take care of dad and Maria!
