Mitchorvens Gelin

Mitchorvens “Mitch” Gelin, beloved son and brother, passed away on March 29, 2026 at the age of 26. He was born on January 5, 2000 to Bettina and Modestin Gelin in Haiti. He departed this life, leaving a legacy of love, kindness and unforgettable memories. He was a vibrant and joyful young man whose uplifting spirit naturally drew people to him. He was easygoing, kindhearted and truly a people person, who connected effortlessly with others. Mitch had a special way of making everyone feel comfortable and welcome. His laughter was healing and his warm, radiant smile was contagious to all who had the blessing of knowing him. He was a proud graduate of Stamford High School. Mitch stepped into the workforce with determination, while saving to continue saving for his education. He was a devoted son and a pillar of strength for his mother, her right hand in every sense. Mitch took great pride in supporting her, making sure responsibilities were handled and always standing by her side whenever she needed him. Mitch had a heart for others. He was a true Good Samaritan, always willing to lend a helping hand, whether to a friend or a stranger. His generosity knew no bounds and his compassion left a lasting impression on all who encountered him. Though his time on earth was far too short, Mitch made an enduring impact on the lives of his family, friends and community. He will be remembered for his loving heart, his joyful presence and the light he brought into every room he entered. He leaves behind his beloved mother and father, his two brothers, one older and on younger, and large extended family from his mother’s and his father’s sides, including many aunts, uncles, cousins and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory. As we mourn this profound loss, we also celebrate the beautiful life Mitch lived and the love he gave so freely. His memory will live on in our hearts forever. Visitation will be held from 9am to 10am on Saturday, April 11th at Bosak Funeral Home & Cremation, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Prayer Service will be held at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, 41 Hecker Avenue, Darien CT.
