Charles 'Chuck' Foster

January 9, 1934 - January 21, 2016

Life Legacy Charles (Chuck) Foster peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, January 21, 2016. Chuck was born on January 9, 1934 in Kingfield, ME to Hubert O. and Ruby Kidder Foster. Chuck graduated from Machias High School and attended The University of Maine before enlisting in the US Army. Chuck served from 1956-1959 as a Sargent, stationed in Germany.Chuck had a signature style and flare. He was rarely seen without his cowboy hat and boots. He was a country boy at heart, with a deep love of hunting and fishing. He never met a lobster or glass of Pinot Grigio he didn't like. He worked hard, but loved harder. He was a fighter, a peacemaker, a rule maker, and the "go to" guy who knew just enough about everything to get the job done.Chuck had many great loves in his life, but nothing warmed his heart more or made him smile wider than when he was surrounded by his grandchildren. Chuck and his loving wife Judy were founding board members of The Stamford Wildcats Fast pitch softball team. Chuck was a permanent fixture on the sidelines in a lawn chair with his video camera. He loved every minute of watching his daughter Kristi and the rest of the Wildcats play.Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Judith McGrath Foster, his four children, Stephen Foster (Melissa), of Gray, ME. Sherri Prendergast (Barry), Kevin Foster (Pam), and Kristi Ciacciarella (John), of Stamford, CT. He is also survived by his sister, Martha Foster of Escondido, CA; his eight grandchildren, Sarah Putnam (Tim) Scott Barton (Britt) Christopher and Laina Ciacciarella, William and Matthew Prendergast and Caitlyn and Sydni Foster; and by many nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to his parents, Chuck was predeceased by his grandson, Jacob Orlando Foster.Family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday January 24th from 4pm-8pm at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am at St. Gabriel's Church, 914 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT. His burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation is his memory to: The Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas or www.woundedwarriorproject.org .The family would like to thank Constellation Hospice Services for all their compassion and care especially, Chuck's favorite nurse, Rhonda who tirelessly worked to keep Chuck comfortable during this past year.
