Dimitrios Efkarpidis

Dimitrios Efkarpidis, a longtime resident of Stamford, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the Smilow Cancer Center at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born in Greece on December 26, 1943, and was the son of the late Nikolaos and Pinelope (Trellopoulos) Efkarpidis. Dimitrios was 74 years old at the time of his passing. He was a member of The Church of Archangels and enjoyed spending all his time with his grandchildren and loved all things science. He loved to work outside in the yard and would pass the time watching movies. He was a master tinker and could fix almost anything. He would end most evenings with a cup of coffee at the Greek Social Club and a good night text to his son’s. He was extremely generous and kind, and loved to help anyone in need. Although he couldn’t hear, he would always listen to people with his heart. He was employed at Tyger Tool for 26 years before retiring in 2016. Dimitrios was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Konstantina in 2013, and is survived by his loving children Nikolaos Efkarpidis and his wife Tarra of Norwalk, Dionisios Efkarpidis and his wife Jill of Stamford, his sister Paula Efkarpidis-Burns and her husband Stephen of New Canaan, three grandchildren Dina, Zoe and Hunter (Dimitrios) Efkarpidis, as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 4pm - 8pm, with a Trisagion Service to be held at 6:30pm. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home on Wednesday, June 27, 2013 at 9:30am for a funeral service to be celebrated at The Church of the Archangels, 1527 Bedford Street, Stamford at 10am. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, 230 Oaklawn Avenue, in Stamford. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dimitrios’ memory to the American Cancer Society on cancer.org or by calling (800) 227-2345. The family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue in Stamford, CT.
