George J. Gallo, 71, passed away peacefully at Stamford Hospital on November 20, 2017. A resident of Stamford at the time of his passing, Jay was born in Bridgeport, CT on January 21, 1946 to the late George J. Gallo II and Noreen (O’Leary) Gallo. He grew up in Westport, CT and graduated Staples High School in 1964. Jay attended Norwalk Community College and graduated from University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s Degree. He loved working with cars and owned and operated a Speed Shop in Westport, CT before entering into the business world as an Insurance Underwriter. Jay is survived by his sister, Judith Gallinger Menzel (Rolf) of Lake Frederick, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be a wake held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford, CT 06902, with a prayer service taking place at 10:00 am. The interment will immediately follow the service at Assumption – Greens Farm R.C. Cemetery in Westport, CT. The family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, in Stamford, CT.
