Gerald Obuchowski Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gerald “Jerry” Obuchowski passed away peacefully at Norwalk Hospital, Sunday November 7, 2021 with his wife and eldest grandson by his side. Born on August 30, 1944 in Stamford, CT, Jerry was the son of the late Victor and Catherine Obuchowski. He is survived by his wife Mary Anne and children Geri Toscano and her husband Steven, Teresa Sclafani and her husband Travis and Daniel Obuchowski and his wife Michele. He is also survived by six grandchildren, John Obuchowski and his wife Kristi, Anthony “A.J.” Toscano and his wife Karime, Nicholas Toscano, Victoria Umbro-Sclafani, Dominic Umbro-Sclafani and Adriana Sclafani and three great-grandchildren, Kylie Genest, Jazelle Velez and Mia Obuchowski, and his brother Daniel Obuchowski and his wife Elsa. Jerry was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served in the Army on the 1st Infantry division and was honorably discharged in August 1967. Jerry also served dutifully for 42 years in the Stamford Police Department, where he retired as a Sergeant. He was an instructor for the Police Academy and also served as the Vice President of the Stamford Police Association for 17 years. He received many awards and accolades while being a member of the Police Department. All of his accomplishments, awards and recognition did not compare to the man behind it all. Jerry was a true family man and friend, who would tell anyone he could that his greatest accomplishment in his life was his family. If you were lucky enough to know him, you knew how much of a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend he truly was. He was a selfless man who would do anything he could for anyone he knew just to put a smile on their face. Family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 16th from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue in Stamford, CT. Prayer services will be held on Friday, November 19th at 10am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at St. John’s Cemetery, in Darien, CT.
