Helen Mary Koda (nee Wojciehowski), 94, died on Wednesday, July 19, 2017. She was born in Shenandoah, PA, and was a long-time resident of Stamford, CT. Upon moving to Stamford, as a young woman, Helen became a parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Church, joined the Rosary Society, and remained a faithful member of the parish throughout her life. She was employed in food services for several businesses including the Roger Smith Hotel, GenRe, and GTE Corp. A devoted mother and wife, she was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Alexander Koda, of Stamford, CT, who was an engineer with Perkin Elmer Corporation. Helen is survived by four children, Elizabeth Koda-Callan of New York City, Richard Koda of Ridgefield, CT, Dorothy Koda of New York City, and Barbara Sandberg of Ocala, FL; and by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11am on Monday, July 24th at the Holy Name of Jesus Church, 325 Washington Blvd. in Stamford, CT. Her interment will follow to Woodland Cemetery, 66 Woodland Place, in Stamford.
