Joseph-Marie Guerlens Pierre, 30 years old, passed away on December 12th, 2021 in his home in Brighton, NY. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on January 16th, 1991, he completed his primary and secondary studies at Saint Louis de Gonzague. He started studying civil engineering at Inuka University in Haiti then went to Polytechnique Montreal and finished his studies at the University of Buffalo. From the University of Buffalo, in 2019, Guerlens received a B.S., Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering, and a Master of Business Administration - MBA with a specialization in Supply Chains and Operations Management. He was also in the process to receive a Master of Science - MS, Structural and Earthquake Engineering in 2022. He was working as a Jr. Structural Engineer at Popli Design Group. In August 2021, Joseph-Marie Guerlens Pierre, married the love of his life, Helody Dorvilus-Pierre, after 14 years of friendship. They have shared a total of 4 months of true happiness and love while still enjoying their honeymoon, whom he left behind to cherish the memories of their lives together. He also left behind his mother and father, Yolene Clerdora-Pierre and Germain Pierre, two brothers - Jude-Marie Guerlay Pierre and wife Kianda, Yves-Marie Guery Pierre; one nephew - Dewayne Kenny Guerlay Pierre. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Joseph-Marie Guerlens Pierre will be remembered as a great man. When he walked into a room, he brightened the place with his contagious laugh. He had a compassionate heart. He was a devoted Christian, husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 23th, 2021 at 9 am. The viewing will start at 8 am at Saint Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06854. Entombment will take place at Saint John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06850. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
