Louise D Constant

Louise Ducelia Constant passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022. She was 98 years old. Louise, lovingly known as “Soeur Celia” by her family and dearest friends, was born in Camp-Perrin, Haiti on August 13, 1923 and moved to America in 1988. Louise was a doting mother and grandmother, even to the children she nannied over the years who still affectionately called her “Gran”. She was driven by a motherly love that knew no bounds, and was generous with her support, nourishment, prayers, and faith. Even more dear to Louise than family was her relationship with God and her strong Christian faith. She held an unwavering belief in the power of prayer. As a valued member of the French Speaking Baptist Church in Stamford for over three decades, she served on multiple choirs and groups. She will be dearly missed. Louise is survived by her brother, Osner Constant; children, Claude Constant, Lyonel Constant and his wife Jeanne Ginette Constant; grandchildren, Lisa Pollock (Morency), Omar Pollock, Stephanie Morency, Patricia Morency, Christopher Morency, Danielle Taylor, Christler Constant and Christie Constant; great-grandchildren, Eli Pollock, Isaiah Morency, Ava Pollock; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Louise was preceded in death by her parents Vierge Vangelus and Massillon Constant; brother Marcel Vangelus and sister Macilia Constant. The family will receive friends at 8am on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at the French Speaking Baptist Church, 28 Adams Avenue in Stamford, CT. The funeral services honoring Louise’s life will begin at 9am with Rev. Dr. Emmanuel St. Juste officiating. Her burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, 66 Woodland Place in Stamford, CT. Louise’s family would like to express immense gratitude for all of the love and support being shown during this difficult time.
