Odette Salomon

March 16, 1930 - May 5, 2020

Odette Salomon passed away on May 5, 2020. She was born March 16, 1930. Odette had a great passion for Haitian Cuisine. She enjoyed cooking all types of Haitian food. Some of her favorite dishes included, Lambi (Spicy Stewed Conch) and Diri djon djon(Black mushroom rice). She found great joy in teaching the younger staff cooking skills at the famous Port-Au-Prince, “Madame Chandler’s Restaurant,” where she worked for over 30 years. In addition to cooking, singing and dancing for the Lord was the highlight of her journey as a devout Christian. Her hands were always up in the air praising the Lord and telling Him thank you! Although, she was busy raising nine children, it did not stop her from volunteering at her local church. As a matter of fact, she attended worship service every time the doors of the church were open. She was adamant about serving the Lord and made sure her children were too. Many years later she relocated to the United State to join her children. “Madam Pere” was known for her determination, infectious smile, and her kind and compassionate spirit. She inspired many with her positive, cheerful outlook in happy anticipation of heaven to see her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mrs. Odette was preceded in death by parents, Suzanne Heritier, Absalom Salomon, children; Marie-Rose Pierre-Louis, Bonita Cedon, Luckner Cedon,Osias Cedon, and Daniel Cedon. She is survived by her sister Camelite Salomon, children and in-laws; Fritsner & Marie-Michelle Cedon, Walter and Solange Cedon, Jacque Cedon, Jean Elie & Winy Louis-Cedon, and Louby Cedon. 30 Grandchildren; Many Great Grandchildren; Host of nieces, nephews and other beloved friends and relatives; and beloved extended family. Due to current CDC Federal guidelines in keeping with public safety standards, the family is holding a Private Visitation and Prayer Service on Wednesday, May 13th at the Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, in Stamford. Burial will be held privately. A webcast of the services will be live streamed at 9am, for family, relatives and friends to be able to take part in her services.
