Stephen Jay Sanvicente

January 3, 2016

Life Legacy Stephen Jay Sanvicente, known as Steve and SJ, passed away unexpectedly on January 3, 2016 in Stamford, CT at the age of 44. Born and raised in Stamford, CT, he graduated from Stamford Catholic High School and continued on to the University of Connecticut in Storrs where he graduated with a BA from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in May of 1995. Steve was a VP, Partner, Integrated Investment at Universal McCann in New York City, where he worked for fifteen years. He worked primarily on the Army account, and was recently awarded an Army Gold Coin for exemplary performance. Steve was an avid sports fan, and loved nothing more than bringing close friends and families to sporting events of all types. He was a doting uncle, who often spent time with his nephew and niece, Kevin and Courtney. Family was always of the greatest importance to Steve, and it showed in everything that he did. Throughout high school, Steve practiced taekwondo where he earned a brown belt. He competed in the Connecticut State Championships and won a bronze medal, which allowed him to advance to the 1988 Junior Olympics in Florida, representing Connecticut. In college, he was a founding father for Tae Kappa Epsilon for the UCONN Chapter and continued to participate in annual events well after graduation. He loved being a Husky, and enjoyed showing his support by attending as many basketball games as possible. Steve is survived by his mother, Simplicia (Dimple) Sanvicente, his sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Shawn Sasser, and his grandmother Rosita Domdom. He is predeceased by his father, Leo Sanvicente, and grandfather, Larry Rosete. He will be deeply missed by friends, family, and all who knew him. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 7th from 4pm to 8pm at the Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave, Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 8th at 10am at Saint Cecilia’s Church, 1186 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Stamford, CT.
