THOMAS R. KIJEK MARCH 16, 1948 – AUGUST 25, 2024 Thomas R. Kijek, a lifelong resident of Stamford, CT, was taken from life suddenly by a rare and fast acting Leukemia. His wife and close cousin were by his side as he went peacefully into the night. Tom was passionate about many things-foremost, his wife Myra and Cherry Headed Conure Dylan, wine-particularly French and European, and music-he had an extensive knowledge of Doo Wop and Rock ‘N Roll, plus a love of classical composers. Tom had a deep appreciation for art and film, a love of raptors, birds and wildlife, and enjoyed trout fishing. Tom was equally passionate about freedom, justice, democracy and truth, and finally, UFO’s. He was a graduate of Holy Name of Jesus School, Wright Tech and attended the University of Bridgeport. Tom was a certified sommelier and a longtime member of the Canadian Corkscrew Collectors Club. Tom’s wide-ranging interests and natural talent for salesmanship led him to sell sophisticated electrical equipment, work in music publishing, promotion and management; the wine industry and as a Realtor, creating the Kijek Team with his wife. Tom was predeceased by parents John and Regina Bobinski Kijek and brother Jerome (Jerry) Kijek. He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Myra Kreiman Kijek, brother Martin Kijek, nieces Gina Kijek; Melanie (Patrick) Roofe; sister-in-law Esther Cerbone Kijek, cousin Sandra (Allen) Kijek-Schult, and many other family and friends. A special thanks to the Hematology Oncology staff at Bennett Cancer Center, in particular Dr. Joshua Dower, whose compassion is unequaled, Hospitalist Dr. Popli, as well as the dedicated and professional staff at Stamford Hospital.
