Denise Ellen Kelly

Denise Ellen Kelly, born October 24,1959, a lifelong Stamford, CT resident, loving daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend to many, passed away peacefully into the hands of Our Lord, on January 31, 2025 at home, following a courageous battle with lung cancer. Denise is survived by her mother, Bea Kelly of Stamford; twin sister, Diane C. Kelly of Stamford; sister, Janice M. Pearson (Roger) of Orleans, MA; and brother, Bryan R. Kelly (Denise) of East Sandwich, MA. She leaves behind cherished nieces, Julie Gunts (BJ) (Brady, Ellie, Charlie) of New Canaan, CT; Michelle Kelly-Green (Ryan) of East Sandwich, MA and Kristina Kelly of Columbia, MO. She was predeceased by her father, Robert F. Kelly (1967-Stamford, CT); maternal grandparents, Mary and John Dimitri (New Rochelle, NY); paternal grandparents, Helen and Joseph Kelly (Garden City, NY) and multiple loving maternal and paternal aunts and uncles. Denise loved growing up in the Springdale neighborhood, where she resided as a child, adolescent and adult. She attended St. Cecilia’s School, graduated from the former Stamford Catholic High School and received a BA degree from Southern Connecticut State College in New Haven, CT. After graduation, she worked for several Fortune 500 companies including Coopers and Lybrand, Unilever, US Surgical and Rayonier. She began her career as a tax paraprofessional and eventually transitioned into Human Resources. For the last 20 years she has worked as an independent HR Consultant. Denise enjoyed entertaining family and friends at home with Diane. She was famous for her baked stuffed shells. As twins, they were inseparable siblings traveling to Tampa, FL for Yankee Spring Training as season ticket holders over 27 years where they developed many lifelong friends and Newport, RI for as many summers. Together they frequented their favorite social scenes throughout the town, knowing there would always be friends there to greet and spend time with them. Denise loved playing with her great nephews and niece. Nothing made her smile more. She also loved walking for miles and miles, especially with her dog, Mickey. Denise had an unmatched spirit of kindness and unwavering love for family and friends which made the world brighter. She was very caring, always willing to help whenever there was a need. If one of her family or friends were stressed, she would find a way to make them laugh. Denise’s warmth and generosity will live on in the countless lives she touched. She will be truly missed. Calling hours will be from 4pm to 8pm on Wednesday, February 5th at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, February 6th at 10:30am at the Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien, CT. Donations in Denise’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, Stamford Health Bennett Cancer Center, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or a charity of one’s choice.
