Edgard Jean

Edgard Jean passed away at his home in Stamford, CT on May 08, 2025. Born on April 17, 1950, he was the son of the late Montelus Jean and Mezilia Exenna Jean. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Ednard Jean, and his brother, Claude Jean. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Monique Jean, Editte Jean, Gerald Jean, Villjean Jean, Monae Jean and Souvenie Jean. Edgard Jean was born in Jacquemel, Haiti. While living Haiti, Edgard worked as a watchmaker. To have a better life for himself and his family, Edgard Jean left Haiti in 1990 to come to the United States, leaving behind his wife, Marie Rose Linotte Jean, and their five (5) children, Ednard Jean, Marie Kerline Jean, Israel Jean, Jimmy Jean and Fabienne Jean. When Edgard Jean first came to the USA, he lived in Miami FL, where he worked at factory cutting sweet cane. After leaving Miami, he moved to Stamford, CT to try to find a better life and better opportunities. In December, 2002, Edgard Jean requested that his two youngest children, Jimmy Jean and Fabienne Jean, join him in Stamford. He worked for Duchess Restaurant and Hilton Hotel for 33 years or more years. After years passed by Edgard Jean met his future wife, Anne Marie, in Haiti, together they had three (3) children, Abimael Jean, Gael Jean and Chama Jean. Edgard Jean is survived by his children: Marie Kerline Jean-Moise, her husband, David Moise, Jimmy Jean, and his wife, Nadege Lisa Medoit-Jean, Fabienne Jean, and her former husband, Josue Moise, Abimael Jean, Gael Jean and Shama Jean. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Samuel Jean, Ismael Jean, Darline Jean, Aniesh Linotte Ludger, Garison Jean, Ava Nichole Jean, Jaden Christopher Jean, Micheal Elise Moise, Rayanne Lisa Jean, Uriah Jean and Christy Jean. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 17th from 8:30am – 9:30am at French Speaking Bethany Free Methodist Church, 145 Lawn Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Prayer Service will follow at 9:30am at the Church. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, 230 Oaklawn, Avenue, Stamford, CT.
