Faith Stashenko

Faith Stashenko (Egley) Age 83 of Stamford, CT passed away after a short illness on February 3, 2017 at her daughter’s home with her son James and granddaughter Alix by her side. Faith was born in Springfield, Mass. to the late Fay Carl Egley and Florence (Gee) Egley. She moved to Stamford, CT after she married her college sweetheart John, Jr. on June 11, 1955. Faith was predeceased by her husband John, Jr., a sister in law Anita Stashenko and a nephew Robert Stashenko. She is survived by her loving children, John Stashenko III (Iola), Faye Kay, Kim Taylor (John) and James Stashenko (Pat). Her 9 grandchildren Stefanie Bronner (Chris), Danielle Watkins (Jermaine), Amanda Stashenko (Mike Paulsen), John Stashenko IV (Bobbi), Frank Stashenko, Joseph Kay IV (Alix), Zach Taylor (Stephanie), Luke Kay (Amanda) and Nadine Taylor, step grandchildren Nick and Martina Perrorazio. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, Jermaine, Ricki, Layla, John V, Logan and Mika, her sister in law Doris Stashenko Randall, a brother in law Robert Stashenko and a niece Robyn Spicer (Scott). Faith was a long standing member of St. Mary’s Holy Assumption Russian Orthodox Church of Stamford, CT. She received great strength from her faith. Faith loved her family and was always available to babysit for grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mary’s Choir for many years, a member of the Church Council many times with various positions. Viewing hours will be Thursday, February 9th from 4pm to 8pm at St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church, 141 Den Road, Stamford, CT with a Panahida service to be celebrated at 6pm. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 10th at 10am with the Very Rev. Vladimir Horoszczak officiating. Interment will be at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery, 230 Oaklawn Ave in Stamford. The children would like to thank the nursing staff at Stamford Hospital 9th and 6th floors and Masonicare for wonderful care they gave our mom.
