Idelcia G. Cassamajor

Idelcia G. Cassamajor passed away on Saturday, May 15th, 2021 at the age of 85. She was born in Anse-A-Veau, Haiti on September 13, 1935 to her late parents Julicia and Antonius Gaetan. Manman as we called her is now reunited in heaven with her departed sons Justin and Clebert Cassamajor, along with her late husband, Roselin Cassamajor. She is also reunited with her late sister, Itilia Gaetan and brothers, Manius Gaetan and Robert Gaetan. Manman was a dedicated, caring and hard working woman. With the help of her oldest son, Justin, she migrated from Haiti to America and eventually sent for her children and grandchildren to be united with her in Connecticut. Prior to her retirement she worked in the hospitality business as a room attendant. She was a loving and supportive mom and role model for her children with a strong belief in education and helping each other. She taught her children to be kind, gracious, respectful and polite individuals. She also taught us the importance of appreciating beautiful flowers (no matter how expensive they were). She always provided her family and friends the best advice, knowing the right response to any situation followed by a story. Aside from her family, Manman’s greatest love was praying and worshiping to her Almighty God. Her faith in the Lord could never be shaken or stirred, despite many losses, tribulations, pain and sadness; she relied on God to get her and the family through it all. You will always find her with her rosary and bible in hand praying for everyone while singing a hymn to Virgin Mary. Since her arrival to the United States, Manman has been a devoted member of the Haitain Community at the Basilica of St. John Evangelist Church, serving as a long standing member of St. Jean choir and Charismatique Group. To her family and friends, Manman was a model of patience, generosity, selflessness, sacrifice and grace. She was a true angel on earth and exemplified what it meant to be a God fearing woman. Manman is survived by her children Kelita C. Victorin, Capner Cassamajor, Yves Cassamajor, Guy Cassamajor, Kettly Cassamajor, Kurt Cassamajor and Puylaurens Cassamajor Alexis, along with their spouses, Sainvilus Victorin, Marie C. Cassamajor, Frank Longo and Reginald Alexis. She is also survived by her grand-children and great grand-children, Ashley Victorin, Anne Victorin, Yves Victorin, Kayla Cassamajor, Yveson Cassamajor, Guyveson Cassamajor, Brian Cassamajor, Ghael Cassamajor, Cassandra Charles, Drake Cassamajor, Kurt Cassamajor, Makayla Cassamajor, Kamme Cassamajor, Brayden Alexis, Ethan Alexis, Kiana Stevens, Rianne Vilfranche, Ryan Vilfranche, and Zaiden Jefferson. Manman was predeceased by her sister Clélie Jean-Charles and brothers; Antonio Auguste, Jean Claude Jean-Louis, and Jean Claude Jean-Baptiste along with her sister-in-laws; brother-in-law; numerous nieces; nephews; great nieces; great-nephews; cousins and friends. Manman will be missed by all who loved her and the lives that she has touched, but she will always be with us in our hearts. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday May 28th from 4pm-8pm at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue in Stamford, Connecticut. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by her adoptive son, Father Jean Ridly Julien on Saturday, May 29th at 9am at the Basilica of St. John the Evangelist Church, located at 279 Atlantic Street, Stamford, Connecticut. Interment will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien, Connecticut.
