Irene D. Brichaux

Irene D. Brichaux (Yurevitch), 83, of Norwalk, CT, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 10, 2023 surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Irene was born August 31, 1940 in Stamford, CT to Stanley Yurevitch of Stamford, and Sophie (Brusky) Yurevitch of Stamford. Irene was a longtime resident of Stamford where she dedicated over three decades working with the Clairol family. She had a strong faith, and loved music, animals and nature. Just as her favorite flower, the white iris, symbolizes purity and sympathy, Irene had a soft heart and gentle spirit. An avid painter, you can see her eye for creativity in her numerous landscape paintings. She experienced her lifelong dream of going on an Alaskan cruise where she “enjoyed God’s beautiful landscape.” She loved watching Hallmark movies, cooking shows, and game shows. Anyone that met Irene was instantly drawn to her. What Irene loved the most was being surrounded with family and loved ones. And she appreciated a good game of Left Right Center with her grandchildren and great grandchildren! Irene is survived by her brother, Stanley “Jerry” Yurevitch of Stamford, CT. Her five children, Doreen and (predeceased) Derek “Dee” LeGrand of Norwalk, CT; Kathy Hall of Stamford, CT; Karen and Mark Evans of Norwalk, CT; Carlos and Linda Wambach-Brichaux of Monroe, NC; and Jeanette Brichaux of Spring Hill, FL. Her grandchildren, Chris and Stacey Hall of Norwalk, CT; Samantha and Austin Cretella of Norwalk, CT; Amanda Evans of Norwalk, CT; Amanda Paris of Indian Trail, NC; and Brianna Hackney of Spring Hill, FL. Her great grandchildren, Torri Hall of Norwalk, CT; and Taylor Hall of Norwalk, CT. A wake will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 4pm to 8pm at Bosak Funeral Home & Cremation, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 11am followed by the burial service at Saint John Cemetery, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien, CT.
