Celebrating the life of Louise PankeySunrise February 21, 1931Sunset July 31, 2017Louise Pankey, the daughter of the late Louis Livingston and the late Flossie Thomas Livingston, was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina on February 21, 1931, and entered into the Lord’s Presence on Monday, July 31, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. at Stamford Hospital in Stamford Connecticut. Louise grew up on Hawthorne Street on the east side of Stamford, and received her education in the Stamford school system. She was a graduate of Stamford High School. She married the late William Pankey, who served his country in the United States Army. From this union were five children: Lucille (“Lucy”), William, Jr. (“Willie”), Lawrence (“Larry”), Marie, and Florence (“Flo”). Louise was a family-oriented person, who enjoyed spending time with her parents and her younger brother Sam on weekends and during the holidays. Those were always happy, joyous times for everyone, especially the children. Every major holiday was spent with “Nonnie,” Grandpa, and Uncle Sammy, with lots of good food, drink, and celebration. Louise was blessed with several people in her life that bear mentioning: her brother, Sam, whose constant help and assistance made him a major influence in the lives of his nieces and nephews. He was always a figure of strength and love, and continues to be so; her mother, the late Flossie (“Nonnie”) Livingston, who was a source of continual love, nurturing, and kindness to her grandchildren as they grew up; her late mother-in-law, Thelma Pankey, whose strength and financial help and assistance was always available; and last but not least, the late Dorothy Dyer of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, who tirelessly came regularly to hold bible studies with the family, and helped us to rediscover the greatness and majesty of Jehovah God, and the life-saving Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We will, as a family, always be grateful for her dedication and faithfulness. Louise loved to travel with her daughters, Marie and Florence, visiting Florida, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, and other locales. She loved visiting her oldest daughter, Lucy, late son-in-law, Horace, grandson, Victor, his fiancé, LaTaisha Allen, and great grandson, Jayden in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She enjoyed going to the Kingdom Hall and gaining the life-saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. She felt blessed to be able to see her great grandson, Jayden Victor Myers, who visited her many times in her home. Toward the end of her long life, Louise experienced some serious health issues, but she was devotedly tended to by her daughters, Marie and Florence through her final illness. Louise leaves family members to cherish her memory: her brother, Samuel Livingston, her daughters, Lucille (“Lucy”), Marie, and Florence (“Flo”); her son, Lawrence (“Larry”); her grandsons, Victor Myers and Quan McKeithen; her great grandson, Jayden Victor Myers; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, in Stamford on Monday, August 7th from 9am and 10:45am with a funeral service will be celebrated at 11am. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, 66 Woodland Place, in Stamford.
