Luis Felipe Jimenez

Life Legacy Luis Felipe Jimenez was born in the barrio of Guanico, Utuado Puerto Rico on May 28, 1932 to his parents, Ferminia Laraquente Jimenez and Hermonios Jimenez Arroyo. Luis passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on May 26, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.Luis moved from Puerto Rico in 1950 to Salisbury, Maryland where he worked at the Swanson food processing company. It was there that he met his wife Gloria of 62 years. It turned out that they were from the same town from Puerto Rico. They married in 1955 and move to Stamford Connecticut in 1957. After working for Paper Novelty for over 10 years, and thanks to the encouragement of friends and family, by the mid 60s they started the Luis Upholstery and Plastic cover business. He was also the owner and proprietor of La Utuadeña Variety Store. Luis took great pride in being part of the original group to help establish our Lady of Monserrat church, which served the Hispanic community. The past 25 years were dedicated to his grandchildren.Luis is survived by his wife of 62 years Gloria Jimenez, daughter Jenny Jimenez, son Luis F. Jimenez, Jr. and his daughter in law Rose Jimenez, five grandchildren; Leticia Jimenez-Quiles and her husband Gabriel Quiles, Luis Christopher Jimenez and Erika Cordero, Daniel Rafael Jimenez, Nicholas Ricardo Jimenez, Fatima Luisa Jumaralli, and his precious great granddaughters Kayden Marie Madsen, Lianna Rose Jimenez and Kaylie Nicole Jimenez. His brother, Ruben Jimenez, and many loving nieces and nephews also survive him.The Jimenez family will receive the sympathy of friends and relatives on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 4pm to 8pm at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, in Stamford. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10am on Thursday, June 1st at St. Benedict/Our Lady of Montserrat R.C. Church, 1 St. Benedict Circle, in Stamford. The interment will immediately follow mass at St. John R.C. Cemetery in Darien.The family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue in Stamford, CT.
