Mary Loretta Barone

Mary Loretta Barone (Walsh) peacefully passed away, Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Cassena Care in Stamford, CT. Born on November 7, 1935 in Bronx, New York City, she was the only daughter to the late John Walsh and Mae Walsh (Lenhard). In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by her brothers: Johnny Walsh, Joseph Walsh, and Francis Walsh. She was the devoted wife of Louis Barone for 61 years; beloved mother of Mary Hlavac, Bernadette Barone, Joseph Barone and Karen Muse; mother-in-law of Daniel Muse and the late Edward Hlavac. In addition to her immediate family, she leaves cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She attended and graduated from Cathedral High School in NY. After graduating from Cathedral High School in NY, Mary embarked on a long working career, employed in various roles: from a telephone associate to an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) to a bank associate. She enjoyed watching old movies, spending time with family and friends, traveling with her family, sharing a good laugh, attending theatrical plays and entertaining family and friends with backyard barbecues and holiday dinners. Her friends and family will remember her amazing history knowledge, her unfailing candor, as well as her uncomplaining stoicism and fortitude in the face of those challenges life brought her way. Her beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her family, friends and all who knew her. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and greatest gratitude to Cassena Care and Constellation Hospice for lovingly caring for Mary. In addition, the family greatly appreciates all expressions of sympathy and acts of kindness shown during this time of bereavement. The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, October 25 from 9:00am to 10:30am at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 25 at 11:00am at St. Maurice Church, 358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Harvester Road, Easton, CT.
