Mary A. DeFelice

Mary A. DeLuca DeFelice a Stamford resident for 70 years passed away peacefully on April 22, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was the second child of Albert and Florence DeLuca (nee Altomare). Born in Stamford, February 1, 1953, she attended Saint Cecilia’s School, Stamford Catholic High School (1970) and Merrill’s Business school. After working many years in the corporate system, she left her desk job to pursue a challenge in Radio which complimented her energetic personality. Stamford’s local radio station WSTC introduced the Mary Anne Show – a talk show featuring many diverse personalities ranging from Politicians, Religious Leaders, and Businessmen within our community as well as Holiday Shows with surprise guests such as Santa Claus. As her audience grew, she took on a new challenge with WGCH, a Greenwich Radio Station looking for a local personality to attract its listeners. She was truly in her comfort zone within this industry as her outgoing nature and gift of listening to others made her a success. Mary was a gracious, loving, and generous person with an unconditional love for her family and friends. She will be remembered for kindness, compassion, and positive outlook on life and deeply missed by all who knew her. Mary is survived by her son Anthony Melillo III; daughter Lea Boyd (Ray); grandson, RJ Boyd; brother Robert (Janet); sister-in-law, Debbie DeLuca, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Steven DeFelice; father, Albert A. DeLuca; mother, Florence P. DeLuca and brother, Charles T. DeLuca. We would like to extend our gratitude to the 2nd and 7th floor Nursing Staff and CNA’s as well as all of the Special Technicians and doctors at Stamford Hospital who cared for Mary Anne, as well as Dr. Angelo Mallozzi, her personal physician. Special thanks to Dr. Dominick Roka for his dedicated care, support, and compassion for Mary, and our entire family. The family will receive friends on Sunday April 30, from 1pm to 5pm at the Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Tuesday, May 2nd at Saint Cecilia’s Church, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford CT. Followed by her interment at St. John’s Cemetery, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien, CT.
