Merlin W. Henry

Merlin Wilson-Henry, age 99, passed away peacefully at home on January 11, 2026. She had a long and meaningful life which she lived with a “Spirit of Peace” imparted on her by her mother, Ethel Lewin. She was born August 16, 1926, in St. Catherine Parish, Jamaica West Indies where she enjoyed the childhood pleasures of horseback riding, climbing trees and track & field. She loved attending and watching various sporting events which included her once-in-a-lifetime experience of attending the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. She also enjoyed domestic and international travels to Israel and Singapore. Merlin was a strong-willed and fearless single mom who moved to the United States in 1966, then over the years that followed, brought her six children and her mother to live with her in the USA. She was a loving mother and avid teacher to her family and her community. She enjoyed cooking, and her home was often filled with laughter, and bringing people together. Merlin was a hard-working, resilient, caring woman who was beloved by those fortunate enough to know her. Merlin is survived by her daughters, Pauline Morris, Beverley Morris, Barbara Brown, Juliet Graham and Sharon Morris. She was also blessed with 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of extended family members and longtime friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts. She is predeceased by her son, Leighton Morris, 3 brothers, Harold Harrison, Gerald Chevannes and Mallica Reynolds, and 5 sisters, Claudia Angus, Josephine and Janet Mitchell, and Ritinella and Indiana Reynolds. Merlin was indeed a faithful servant, a loving mother, a gentle grandmother, and a caring great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Her strength was amazing, her love was infinite, her smile was sincere, her wit was charming, and her spirit will forever be sweet, enriching and everlasting. Merlin’s memory will live on through the many lives she touched with her kindness and strength. Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, January 30th, at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford. A Funeral Service will be on Saturday, January 31st at 10am at Bethany Church, 2 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, 66 Woodland Place, Stamford, CT.
