Stephen Paul Saturno

Stephen Paul Saturno - Born in Flushing NY January 1, 1954, the youngest child of Alfred and Albina Saturno. His childhood was spent in the family neighborhood of Beechhurst, Queens, NY and later in Lake Grove, Suffolk NY. Summers were spent at the family farmhouse in Gilboa, NY where he worked in local establishments. Following graduation from Smithtown East HS (St. James, NY) and completed one year of college. He entered the building contracting trade working in Square Carpentry with his brother, Alfred, and later in his own sole proprietorship. He developed and built many homes in the Stamford CT area and along the Connecticut shoreline (Madison, Groton CT). Stephen pursued formal certification in several construction areas moving into building and construction inspection and ICC certification. He oversaw many building and construction certification projects within the greater NY/CT area, from Brooklyn, NY to Hartford, CT. This included his position as steel inspector for the expansion of the new Stamford Hospital and Kendall on the Hudson. In 2018, he moved to a Building Inspector position for the City of Bridgeport where he remained employed. Stephen greatly enjoyed helping people with projects and enjoyed gardening. He was an active parishioner at St. Leo’s in Stamford CT and was involved with many parish activities. He was beloved by family and many in the Stamford community. He is predeceased by his mother Albina, his father Alfred, two brothers Alfred and Anthony, three sisters, Rosalie, Mary and Linda, and one nephew Alfred. He is survived by his wife, Joan, a stepdaughter AnnaMaria, a stepson in-law José, two step grandchildren Joey and Marco, his brother Richard, three sisters Barbara, Denise, and Rita, and 26 nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be on Friday, September 6th from 4pm to 8pm at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 7th at 10 am at St. Leo Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford, CT. Interment will be private.
